MS GRADUATE STUDENT ASSISTANTSHIP, Prairie View A&M University. The Thermal Science Research Center (TSRC) has research assistantships available for students with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, and who is interested in pursuing a Master of Science (MS) Degree in engineering with an emphasis in thermal science. As part of the MS requirements, the students will be required to write a thesis. TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION ENERGY/THERMAL-FLUID SYSTEMS The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alabama has a tenure-track opening at the assistant professor level in the area of energy to be filled beginning August 16, 2010.  An earned doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely-related field is required, along with a strong research background in energy/thermal-fluid engineering.  The successful candidate must have high potential for sustainable funded research and will collaborate with current thermal/fluid faculty members.  Current research areas are energy systems, energy efficiency, building energy systems, combustion, internal combustion engines, power generation, propulsion systems, sustainable energy, and general thermodynamics and heat transfer.  The University is committed to being a student-centered research university; therefore, excellence in both undergraduate and graduate teaching will be expected.

THE DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA FAIRBANKS (UAF) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the area of Energy Engineering starting August 2010.  Candidates should have a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field with a strong background in energy-related engineering. MECHANICAL AND AEROSPACE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, DEPARTMENT CHAIR (Ref #00050312). The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly the University of Missouri-Rolla) is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Department Chair with an anticipated starting date of July 1, 2010.
