COLLECT FOR OUTPUT

• Printed directory showing all contents of disc
• Hardcopy proof
• Include all scans and illustrations
• Compress into Stuffit or Zip files for e-mail transfer

DOCUMENT LAYOUT

• Fractional ad documents should be created at their actual size
• Provide single pages rather than spreads
• Bleeds should extend 1/8 inch beyond our trim size
• Live area should be kept 1/4 inch from trim
• Created color should be CMYK (Do not use "spot color")
• Total ink coverage should not exceed 300 percent

IMAGES

• Photos should either be Grayscale or CMYK
• Photos should have a final effective resolution of 300 dpi
• Photos should be saved as TIFF, JPEG, or, if clipping path is used, as EPS
• Lineart should have a final effective resolution of 1200 dpi
• Lineart should be saved as TIFF with LZW compression applied
• Created color should be CMYK (Do not use "spot color")
• Total ink coverage should not exceed 300 percent

FONT MANAGEMENT

• Use Postscript Type 1 fonts (avoid TrueType wherever possible)
• Include screen and printer fonts that are used in ad (those embedded in eps files as well)
• Actual fonts should be used (stylized fonts may not render properly)
